Manufacturer SanDisk, a global leader in flash memory cards, has announced the release of two new SSD hard drive models: the Extreme and the x100.

The former features a 2.5-inch format with write speeds of 520 MB/s and read speeds of 550 MB/s, while the latter boasts an S-ATA 2.5-inch and mSATA format, with write speeds of 420 MB/s and read speeds of 500 MB/s.

The Extreme SSD series will be available in 120 GB, 240 GB, and a 480 GB version is announced for the near future.

The x100 SSD series is available in versions from 32 GB to 512 GB.

SanDisk is thus responding to the shortage of conventional hard drives affecting the computer world by releasing two SSD (Solid-State-Drive) models, which - as a reminder - are made up of flash memory.
